The fact that the OS for Macintosh has changed should have nothing to do with it. Else why would MS Word, etc.

UMAX does not have a driver for mac OS X. Since the scanner has been out for almost ten years, UMAX will not have an updated driver for Astra 2200 to support OS X. However, you can check a third party scanning software at.
